Suspended Players/Team/Club Officials
It is the responsibility of the players, teams and club officials to ascertain their status with regard to discipline matters such as the date when the individual becomes eligible to participate or the number of cautions (yellow cards) accumulated, etc.
The coach of any team having a player serving a suspension -- either automatic or imposed -- will be required to include that player’s name on the game sheet with the notation UNDER SUSPENSION beside the name.
Club Responsibilities
Clubs are responsible for ensuring that coaches and players are made aware of the above information. They must also be aware of this information and the discipline status of their players and other Club officials.
Each Club is responsible for the conduct of their players, coaches and spectators.
Serving Suspensions
1. All players not appealing a charge will be deemed guilty and shall be levied an administrative fee equal to the specified penalty (if applicable).
Players who resume play without paying the specified administrative fee are considered ineligible and are subject to disciplinary actions.
2. The player’s book/card is to be submitted to the referee immediately following the game or to the club designate within 48 hours of the game in which the offence occurred. Failure to submit the player book/card will result in further action being taken against the player’s team.
3. The team coach/manager must list all suspended players on the game sheet with UNDER SUSPENSION beside his/her name.
Suspended players listed on the game sheet without UNDER SUSPENSION beside his/her name will be considered to have participated in the game and will be subject to disciplinary action.
4. Suspensions must be served within a player’s own competitive level (the age category in which he/she is registered.) For example, a suspended player is not eligible to Play-Up and thus may not serve his/her suspension under the guise of Playing-Up. Reserve team players must serve his/her suspension with the House league team not on the Competitive team.
ie. A player suspended for three (3) games must appear as UNDER SUSPENSION on his/her own team’s game sheet for three (3) consecutive games.
5. Suspensions are to be served during regular season games. A player is eligible to participate in any other competition, ie. Tournaments. All suspensions will carry over to the following year if not fully served in the current year.
6. All players have the right to appeal red/yellow cards by meeting the following requirements:
i) The appeal must be confirmed in writing within three (3) normal working days of the game by submitting an Official Appeal Form signed by a Club Executive.
ii) The player’s book/card and $25.00 Appeal Hearing Fee must be submitted with the Official Appeal Form within three (3) normal working days of the game.
iii) If the appeal is upheld then this money will be returned. If the Suspension is upheld, then the $25.00 Appeal Hearing Fee will be surrendered and the applicable fine/suspension will be levied.
