Water Break Policy

The board of directors for the South Side Soccer League have adopted a water break policy to go into effect as of today’s date June 5, 2006 for the summer outdoor seasons.

The policy is as follows:

During the summer outdoor season any coach may ask the referee to allow for a short water break at the approximate half way point of each half of the game. If a coach from one of the teams asks for this break then the referee MUST allow for it. This break will be applied at a time that is most appropriate as determined by the referee at a natural point such as any regular stoppage in play and the game will be restarted as it would have been if no break was called. The water break should not last more than 5 minutes and will not be deducted from the normal playing time.

This policy applies as a mandatory requirement for days when the Humidex reaches above 30 degrees C. and is at the discretion of the referee when the temperatures are forecasted to be below 30 degrees C.
